"Additional support for dogs and cats in hot weather."

Additional support for dogs and cats with diarrhea during warm weather. Take preventive measures and prevent dehydration due to diarrhea.

Every dog or cat can get it: diarrhea. If your pet has diarrhea, this is not inherently concerning. Diarrhea is a way for the body to eliminate foreign substances due to, for example, a stomach virus or food poisoning. In many cases, it goes away on its own. However, during periods of warm weather, additional risks can arise. In addition to the already high likelihood of dehydration on warm days for animals with normal stools, diarrhea poses an additional risk that can lead to your pet becoming dehydrated. Therefore, take additional measures and reduce the likelihood of your dog/cat becoming dehydrated.

Diarrhea due to warm weather

Warm weather is not only dangerous for dogs/cats with diarrhea, but can also be a cause of diarrhea in your pet. In heat, the heart withdraws blood from the organs. The body compensates for this by withdrawing blood from the intestines, which can in turn cause diarrhea. Additionally, your dog/cat may get diarrhea from ice or ice-cold water. It also costs the animal a lot of energy to warm the cold water back to body temperature.

Measures

Firstly, it is important to give your pet cool water, but not ice-cold water. Additionally, it is advisable to support the digestive system additionally on warm days. Administering a probiotic helps support the balance of the intestinal flora. ZooLac Propaste® stabilizes digestion and balances the bacterial intestinal flora by using good bacteria and the animal's own immune system. Through better restoration/maintenance of the intestinal flora, diarrhea can be resolved/prevented more quickly. For more information on ZooLac Propaste® and to purchase this probiotic, click here.
