Are your dog's or cat's stools a bit out of balance, too loose or actually too hard? Then you want something simple that helps get digestion back on track. Iso Gel is a dietetic feed based on ispaghula, also known as psyllium husk (Plantago ovata). The granules consist of 90% of this plant fibre.
When it meets moisture, ispaghula forms a soft gel. This gel binds water in the gut and adds bulk to the stool. That way, Iso Gel helps bring stools back to a normal consistency. If stools are too loose, the fibre binds excess moisture. If they are too hard, the gel makes them softer.
| Animal | Amount per serving | How often |
|---|---|---|
| Dog | 2–5 teaspoons (3 ml each) | 1–2x daily |
| Cat | 2 teaspoons (3 ml each) | 1–2x daily |
Mix Iso Gel into (wet) food. The recommended period of use is 1 to 2 weeks, or longer in consultation with your vet. Always provide plenty of fresh drinking water: the fibres need moisture to do their job.
Granules with 90% ispaghula (psyllium husk, w/w dry matter). Gluten-free.
Store at room temperature (15–25 °C), out of the reach of children. Shelf life: see packaging.
What is ispaghula?
Ispaghula is the fibre-rich seed husk of the Plantago ovata plant, also called psyllium. It is a soluble fibre that can bind a lot of water.
Does Iso Gel work for both loose and hard stools?
Yes. The fibre binds excess moisture in loose stools and softens hard stools. That way, Iso Gel helps normalise consistency in both directions.
How do I give Iso Gel to my cat?
Mix 2 teaspoons into wet food. Most cats hardly notice it. Make sure your cat drinks enough.
How long can I give Iso Gel?
The recommended period is 1 to 2 weeks. If you want to give it for longer, please talk to your vet.
When should I see the vet?
If your pet is vomiting, has abdominal pain, is lethargic, has blood in the stool or if stools don't improve after a few days.
